My first visit to Venice was amazing. I will not wax lyrical here but simply say that city lived up to its reputations with scenes to shoot at almost every turn of foot or propeller. I did leave with a favourite location / viewpoint from this trip - in part because it is simply classic Venice and also because it was so close to where I was staying so saw it a lot at different times of day - the view East from Academia Bridge. The shot above is with the faintest sunset colour at dusk.
An early morning offered some mist.
A scene that could have been almost the same 200 years ago.
Warm, muted, dusty afternoon light enhances the scene.
Lovely balance of ambient and artificial light at dusk
I will edit and post more from Venice but this scene deserved its own post. I will be printing a selection of images as limited editions launching in August at the Open Studios event in Broughton and then online.
