London.
London.
I was staying in a hotel near the Natural History Museum and was given a room on a high floor. At dusk the balance of the colour in the sky, some residual ambient light and the lighting up of London landmarks came together perfectly. Two problems. First my tripod was in the car. Second. if I put the camera on a tripod I could not get the lens through the window which only opened a few inches. It did however open wide enough though to jam my camera through the gap, coerce it into a good viewpoint and shut the window on it to hold it in place. Thus capturing the essence of London in one shot. Museums, residential areas, Harrods, St Paul’s, the City, the London Eye, the Oxo Tower, the Shard, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Canary Wharf. And a London bus, paused for the duration of the 30sec exposure while traffic flowed creating the central leading line. Printable up to 6’ wide. An edition of just 9 panels and 9 prints.
